Toy Story cake with Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jesse
A friend asked if I could do a Toy Story cake with Buzz, Woody and Jesse on it. I have not attempt making figurines out of sugarpaste. It was fun but more practice, I must do. My Woody looked like he has put on extra extra pounds! and I couldn't quite get the red colour right. Would love to do another one.
Wedding cake Purple Roses
Made this wedding cake for my cousin Maya's wedding reception at Jeumpa D'Ramo. She loves roses and the reception's theme colour was purple. The cake was a madeira cake, I coated the cake with marzipan before applying the Royal icing for that nice pearly look. Also did the roses with Royal icing.
Helped do the pelamin for her. Used up all the material my mother kept from our wedding. Helping out with wedding preparation is one of my many hobbies.
Thank you Maya and Mak Ngoh!

Oatmeal and Raisins Cookie
I have spare oatmeal, raisins and time, I've always loved the taste of old-fashioned oatmeal cookies and found a do-able recipe, so made this wholesome tasty treat for the boys. First bite and Akasyah said, "Wow Bunda, this is really good!". My sons never fail to flatter their Bunda's bakes. But seriously, I was blown away by the wonderful taste of the cookies myself. Got the recipe from the big baking book Mrika gave me.

Wedding cake for Mimie & Faqrul
Cinnamon Rolls with Chocolate Chips Filling
My boys love the Cinnabons and we always have to stop and buy them every time we walk pass it. Because they like the cinnamon rolls so much and have asked me many times to make the rolls at home, I figure why not?
I use a simple bread recipe. Roll out the bread dough into a rectangle shape. Spread melted butter, sprinkle sugar and cinnamon powder and chocoloate chips and roll the dough into a log shape and slice. The boys insisted on helping me with the sprinkling, so I let them help. Messy but fun!
And because we had so much fun making these rolls, we made another batch the next day.

Akasyah's Choo Choo Train Cake
My baby turned 6 last Friday and I am proud. Baked him a choo choo train chocolate cake for his school. He goes to Insight-kids Pre-school. A very good pre-school, I highly recommend it. Of course the best thing about the school is that it is just across the street from home. Haha!
Anyway, did the cake with a little bit of frosting. Didn't want to put too much because the cake is already molded nicely. My sister Tiah, bought the cake mould from a cake shop in Aberdeen called Lakeland for BP26.99. Pricey, but worth it!
I baked choo choo train cookies for the party packs. I didn't have time to frost all the cookies, so I decided to give the children a 'Frost your own cookie" Kit. Asked Akasyah what he thinks, he thought it was, "Brilliant idea, Bunda!".
In each kit has a cookie, a frosting tube, a bag of sprinkles and a cookie recipe card (made by mrixiepixie, a very dear friend of bakinglab...hehehe).
The children loved the cake and their goodies!

Experimenting with whites
Today, husband is free to babysit the baby, so I get to experiment on the icing tips I bought a while ago.
I'm sure they already have names for all these tips. But I have my own special name for them. These I call, star tips because they make little stars.
Spaghetti tip and carpet nozzle. Carpet nozzle can also be used to make Elmo cupcake. Spaghetti tip to make spaghetti cupcake? Hehehehe. I pun tatau.
Haaaaa, to make these I use the petal and leaf tips. Made the roses first, and then assemble on the cupcake.
This one is my personal favourite because I love white roses. Good for wedding cake assemble.
These are random basket weaving tip, siput tip and quick rose tip.
Stay tuned for more experiments in the bakinglab.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese
Oreo Cheese Cupcake
Take a packet of Oreo biscuits, and crush them. Add a quarter cup of melted butter and mix well. Divide them into cupcake cups to form a base for your cheesecake. Put in the oven for about five minutes. Take out and cool. In a different bowl, mix 2 sticks of cream cheese with 3/4 cup of caster sugar. Stir in 2 eggs with 2 tsp vanilla extract. You can add crumbs of oreos to the cheese mix. And then, pour the cheese onto the oreo base. Put in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes. Tadaaaa, Oreo Cheese Cupcakes.

C for Caterpillar
Thank you to my wonderful sisters, Tiah for buying the cake pan, and Aliyah for sending it home. This cake is for my darling nephew (Aiman) and nieces (Anisah and Sarah) in the United Kingdom. BUT, we will eat it for them lah. Hehe. Sowey darlings.
This is how the cake look without the icing.
And this is the cake with the icing. Used all the colours I have, on this cake. I had fun!

Experimental Butterflies and Tulips
My first tryout at icing cookies with royal icing. I don't have meringue powder, so I've used egg white to make the icing. Got the recipe from kak min's website. And the technique, I found a good tutorial site on the web, called sweetopia.
A quick royal icing recipe from kak min's website:
whisk egg white until foamy, add 1/4 tsp cream of tartar and then add a tbs at a time sifted icing sugar until you get the right consistency. To get the right consistency, use the 10 sec rule. If you cut across your icing, it should go smooth before 10 secs. Refer to sweetopia. Once you have the right consistency, add colours and you are ready to ice your cookies!

Flying Machines
Lollipop Cookies
Did a quick job for a new friend, Farah. Her niece wants lollipop cookies and the theme is Alice in Wonderland. I am not a big fan of the Wonderland, because to me it's just Scaryland. So, not familiar with the cartoon character. A sister in Machester was very kind to google for pictures from the cartoon movie, and ( with the help of a friend ) came up with these designs. I hope Farah's daughter is happy!
Ouh, I went to four baking supply shops looking for lollipop sticks. All out of stock. So I use chopsticks, instead!
